“The Find & Follow Your Passion conference was everything I hoped it would be. Each of the inspiring speakers were really open to sharing their stories, giving the attendees insight as to how they got to where they are today. The conference was also an excellent networking opportunity – I was able to speak to professionals from some really awesome NYC companies, as well as other recent grads.”

“I packed two bags leaving my home in Alaska and traveled over 4,000 miles in hopes of making a home in New York. I came across a NY Creative Interns mixer for recent grads. I went with the hope of maybe meeting a few people and instead left with good friends and little did I know – the contact who would become my future employer. I have been at Amusemi for almost a year now, and thanks to NY Creative Interns I have a job that has been more than fulfilling, a resource that has connected me with a wonderful network of creatives, and a community that makes me feel at home.”
—Dahlia Green, Attended Mixer

“Find & Follow Your Passions 2012 at SVA was such an awesome experience! It was a collection of creative, interesting people with different backgrounds and interests, but with one common denominator: Passion. It was great to listen to the speakers, engage in dialogue with other fellow Passion pursuers and hang out at the School of Visual Arts (great location!). The energy was so infectious, I was still buzzing off of it for weeks! Looking forward to checking out what Find & Follow Your Passions 2013 has to offer!”

“Class was really helpful in learning new ways to use social media to market yourself and stay on the radar of employers. Emily had a lot of creative ideas that I wouldn’t have thought of myself, and she brought a great energy to the class. Never felt intimidated and the class would be a great step to building (or starting) your own network! Recommend!”

“Guess who just landed an internship with Core77 thanks to NY Creative Interns! I can’t even thank the NY Creative Interns team enough for the internship/job postings. I am so excited!”
– Corie Kupferberg, attended How to Make it As an Artist in the Digital Age

I went to Find & Follow Your Passion and while there I tweeted at Viacom! I figured it couldn’t hurt mentioning their name on my Twitter and hopefully it’d work to my benefit especially because I want to do content development / social media.  It was a very simple Tweet but I ended up getting a response. I’m not sure if that put me on someones radar but the next day I received a response to the application I submitted to Viacom, on Wednesday I had an interview with Nickelodeon, and I was offered the internship later that day.  I’d like to think because of my tweet I was put on someone’s radar and it helped me out a bit.

“This is an awesome group of interesting, friendly, positive people. I go to a lot of meetups and was really impressed with the quality that Emily & Co have been able to attract. It obviously starts with all the co-organizers being just about the warmest most inviting group ever.”

“After college I moved to the city that never sleeps in hope to make my dreams become a reality. I spent hours applying for jobs and internships on sites only to never hear anything back. One day I stumbled upon NY Creative Interns and applied to an intriguing internship posting entitled Jill of All Trades with Janine Just. I got an email for an interview within the hour and an interview scheduled for the position in the same week. I landed the interview and was offered the position. While working with the amazing women that make up Janine Just I was able to hone in on all the fundamentals I learned about PR in college and actually apply them to real world campaigns.  This was an amazing opportunity that I was made aware of by NY Creative Interns which in my job hunt experience is the most resourceful and beneficial site for recent college grads.”

“I went to your June 6th mixer…with my business cards not really expecting much. Before the speaker started her presentation you asked people who needed interns to pitch and one of those people was the co-founder of the startup Fiestah. After the presentation…we exchanged business cards and I had an interview the Friday of that week. Later that day they emailed me saying I got the internship and I started interning the following Monday. This internship has provided me with the most creative freedom I have ever had working for a company. Thank you. I will definitely continue attending your events because of this.”
– Danielle Small, attended the June Mixer

“My frat retweeted NY Creative Interns when Bad Boy was hiring for a special project and I knew it was perfect! I applied and I waited. I was so depressed at the time because I was so lost, but Bad Boy called me in the midst of all the dark clouds and asked was I still interested in the position. Of course I told them YES and they wanted me to fly out to New York the same week. Not only did they select me, but they paid me and made me a temp. I worked as the Project Manager for Diddy Dirty Money in the department of Digital Media Marketing & Branding. If it wasn’t for NY Creative Interns, I wouldn’t have the faith and confidence I have today to pursue my dreams.”
– Jamal Minor, Twitter follower

From Employers

NY Creative Interns has been a phenomenal source for candidates. I’m really surprised at the sheer quantity and quality of applicants. I really wasn’t expecting so many resumes, and y’all have really trumped job boards that cost way more!
— Andrew Cerda, Recruiter at foursquare

“We had an absolutely seamless experience hiring two social media interns through NY Creative Interns. The interview process was fast, the candidates matched our criteria, and the applications and resumes were of a high caliber. The hires were so fantastic, we eventually hired both interns as full time employees!”
— Stephanie King, Senior Social Strategist at kbs+

“It can be a challenge to find interns. There are so many places to post and the responses can be pretty mixed. This past semester we posted on the NY Creative Interns’ Job Board and received an overwhelming amount of strong responses. Our recruiting process went smoothly and in just a few weeks we filled all the spots– with more than half of our interns coming from this job board.”
— Jessica Palermo, Special Projects Associate at MKG

“Through NY Creative Interns, we were able to find the perfect intern to match our request. All of the resumes we received from the NY Creative Interns Job Board were great, but one in particular stood out head and shoulders above the rest. Our new intern is everything we wanted, and has made our day to day operations that much more efficient. Our gratitude goes out to NY Creative Interns, for making this a possibility! Thank you!”
— James Deskevich. Director of Operations, Bespoke Global, Inc.

“I posted for an internship position at our non-profit Women in Wireless. We got a great response from a bright young woman who we eventually hired. We posted on several other internship websites and although we had responses – they were all people that were either unqualified, or didn’t perform as well in the interviews. I couldn’t recommend NY Creative Interns enough!”
— Melissa Fudor, Program Manager Women in Wireless

“We listed with NY Creative Interns at the suggestion of a friend.  I could not have been more impressed with the quality of candidates we received, and have been blown away by the capability and proactive work ethic of the intern we hired.  I hope she stays forever, but if not, we will definitely be using NY Creative Interns again!”
– Nell Ryan, Senior Manager of Web & Business Development, Celebrations.com

“I was so impressed with the work ethic, attitude, and maturity of the candidate we hired through NY Creative Interns. While other interns might not have approached the less glamorous assignments with enthusiasm, Daniel tackled every task with eagerness and precision. We are now searching for a second intern and I have no doubts that NY Creative Interns will quickly become our go-to source for recruiting.”
– Megan Arend, Marketing and Customer Support Assistant at ChallengePost

“Extremely organized and caters equally to both students and business professionals.”
— Tanya Carroll, Human Resources at Shutterstock

“Finding interns always used to be a struggle. Posting positions online returned mixed results at best. I attended a NY Creative Interns event in 2011 and met several great candidates, including one, Caitlin Walsh, who joined our team and blossomed into a true superstar. We ended up hiring her for a long-term project once her internship concluded.”
— Dan Rollman, Founder, RecordSetter.com

— Ashley Parrish, Editor-in-Chief, DailyCandy

From Event Hosts

“I’ve had the good fortune to partner with Emily and NY Creative Interns for multiple events. There are few organizations who execute such fabulous events so well–the organization accounts for absolutely everything–from planning, to advertising, to follow up. When we [AOL] co-hosted NY Creative Interns’ “Interview to the Top” event this summer, Emily and her team rounded up a diverse, funny, and poignant panel of professionals–and made sure to ask thought provoking questions that audience members often forget to ask, and should definitely know the answers to. I was impressed with the caliber of students and young professionals in the audience, and loved the follow-up article NY Creative Interns posted after the event! I have no doubt that this organization will continue to grow, as it is already a great resource and provides meaningful networking opportunities for young professionals in the New York Creative community!”
— Lauren Bloch, Campus Recruiter, AOL

“NY Creative Interns has been one of the most successful event organizers we have ever hosted at the Wix Lounge. Every event they put together is seamlessly organized, beautifully executed, and packed with valuable content. They attract a crowd of bright and innovative young professionals that always impress me with their energy and motivation. As someone who interacts with a constant stream of creative professionals every day, I find myself recommending their events and services relentlessly.”
— Ashley Williams, Client Relations Manager, Wix Lounge

NY Creative Interns is such a wonderful, meaningful and productive organization —  a really substantial one. We’ve had the privilege and pleasure of hosting a gathering of these young people in our offices at The Morris + King Company several times, and to witness their excitement at the cusp of their future is something memorable and special. Emily Meithner, the founder and president of NY Creative Interns, is a force to behold. What she’s put together here is the very essence of community building, really: the community of young people who will take us into the future. Bravo!
